THLN Chapter President asks question, gets canned. WTF?

Although I'm not a big fan of Facebook, and refuse to set up my own page, it sometimes makes for interesting reading.

Here is a screen grab from Suzette Watkins' Facebook page. Suzette runs a combined kennel/boarding facility/rescue in Ft Worth - and until last month, she was the Ft Worth chapter President for the Texas Humane Legislation Network.

However, it looks like Suzette asked the wrong question to the wrong person. This resulted in THLN promptly showing her the door. I'll let her Facebook page do the talking:

Considering the (alleged) role that the Shelter Advisory Committee plays in the running of Dallas Animal Services, I can't figure out why anyone would consider Suzette's actions as anything less than doing her job. Instead, it cost her the job.

More later - I fear my laptop battery is red and I'm in darkest Bell County without my charger.

Nice job FP! Thanks for helping spread the word about the nonsense that goes on behind closed doors!

Is the fundraiser I read about on Larry Powell, the one you were working with? Is it still on? and are you still going to help fund THLN's bad bills?

@ Anonymous - As I'm not sure what you're referring to, I'm assuming your question is directed to Suzette.

Anon - I am the Event Organizer for Music 4 Mutts Fort Worth (www.music4muttsfw.com). None of the funds will fund anything concerning Texas Humane Legislation Network.

Thank you, I would hope it could go directlly for rescues that will use it FOR THE ANIMALS IN THEIR CARE NOW and that none of them would donate it to THLN because many of them DO DONATE MONEY GIVEN FOR ANIMALS TO THLN. I've always been concerned at the number of Rescue groups and SPCA that THLN listed as donors and some of them BIG DONORS. THLN has pulled down their list but I'm sure its because they knew some of us were having a fit over our money spent in that manner.

Anon - Totally understand what you have said above. I always wondered why the old time THLN supporters could only see as far as the shelters and a few rescue groups. In my head, I was like, why are they (THLN) so fixated on shelters and a few rescue groups as opposed to say, the public. Now I know, as that was where they were getting what little money that received and the leaders (Skip & Cile) couldn't see farther than those hubs.
The money raised at Music 4 Mutts will go to 3 rescue groups (listed on website) and low cost spay/neuter clinic (TCAP). If anyone wants to be on the "Transparency & Accountability Committee," (which follows the money trail of this event) you are more than welcome. Watch the website for details of next Committee meeting date & location.

thank you, Suzette. The big thing for Skip is to line up sheeple by using shelters/rescuers to complain, write, call, email politicians to change laws!! that is the real purpose to snag them and yes they do donate but big money comes from elsewhere, they wait to draw donations in to rescues with fundraiser/donations after seizures and then sell the dogs but donate to THLN (shelters) when they have the cash raked in. HSNT has donated thousands over a number of years as do the other big groups like them. THLN then turns around and hires more lobbyists for Austin and Skip is one of those too! A few of the small rescue groups donate too, just not $1000 or more like the bigger groups!

I've had my own problems with one of the 'leaders' of HSNT and even with documented wrongdoing, THLN, (Cile Holloway), looked the other way and wasn't at all interested in knowing or hearing of the troubles. Cile & Skip 'protect' their sheeples at all costs which is why I am still skeptical and suspicious that Kent Robertson and others like Rebecca Poling and Skip Trimble knew of the trapped cat in Dallas Animal Shelter walls before it died. Kent Robertson testified with Trimble in Austin on animal Bills he wanted passed. Is that a political favor? You can google it and find such proof. When being removed from my position, Cile Holloway, in her most saleperson-like voice, said, "Suzette, Skip n-e-e-e-v-e-r mingles his THLN work with the Commission work." I laughed.
I suppose back in the 60's & 70's finding people warm to the idea of betterment for the animals was difficult, but not today. I think Holloway & Trimble need to be reminded that it's a new day in animal welfare and people who care about animals are not the rarity they may have been 20 years ago.
BTW, cash money from Music 4 Mutts will not be given to the rescue groups, but the money will be used to purchase items that they need like crates, food, etc. Cash money will be given to TCAP and deposited in a special account for approved use.

I'll repost my comment as mine from earlier today got lost somewhere in blogger land.
Anon - That is how I see it as well. Since my business is located one block from HSNT, I've had many dealings with them and taken many dogs over there from the streets of East Ft. Worth! When I first started volunteering for Texas Humane Legislation Network, I sent some emails stating some of my personal issues with at least one "Director" at HSNT -- of course, Cile Holloway had nothing whatsoever to say about it. I wondered for a long time why such 'protection' of HSNT and Fort Worth Animal Control perhaps even at the cost of wrongdoing. Now I know. It appears that anyone who testifies in Austin for THLN gets protection. That is why I am so convinced that the possibility is high that Skip Trimble and/or Rebecca Poling and possibly others knew about the trapped cat in the walls of the Dallas Shelter BEFORE it died. Kent Robertson went to Austin and testified on animal issues/Bills with Skip Trimble (one can google this and find proof). Did this buy him political protection? Did this get him his job at Houston's BARC? Did this get him his job in Dallas after Houston? Who recommended this guy for Houston and for Dallas?

When Cile Holloway quickly called to inform me of my removal from my position with THLN, we discussed the reason being because I had just asked Rebecca Poling the daunting question about the trapped cat. Cile, in her most salesperson-like voice, said,"Oh Suzette, Skip n-e-e-e-v-e-r mingles his THLN work with his Commission work in Dallas." I laughed out loud. That was funny to me.
BTW, cash money from Music 4 Mutts will not go directly to the rescues; however, crates and such will be purchased for them. Cash money will, however, be deposited into a special account with TCAP and be used with approval for spay/neuter.

Thanks to Feline for help in getting these words out to the people. The people deserve to know.

Suzette, you have nailed quite a bit on your own, very good! but I could curl your hair with confirming all you said and more.

I don't have the link to the website you referred to and can't place TCAP right now but Skip and Cile have been after the animals in Dallas and the state for close to 20 years! As for Robertson, he was, I understand....allowed.....to quit instead of being fired from Dallas before. The job here was vacant for 2 or more years when he was .....brought....back. as for knowing about that cat, I think many knew the cat was there and the excuse that Robertson was out of town doesn't wash. It is inexcusable that incident happened as it did but I think it was a setup. I know others who have thought that too. I doubt we will ever know for sure.

Remember this, HSUS doesn't like Winograd or his No-Kill policy and neither does Skip and his crew, and they keep getting hired for something they are unqualified to do so is that just a way to funnel money to them? They are crooks too you know, or I hope you have learned that. No animals, no animal products, vegan is the only thing they want out of this, all pets gone and that is what happens when all are N/S. For now, they think all who have ever bred a pet is a commercial breeder but the ones they really want aren't what the average person might call that, its those who breed and show quality animals they want gone first. Raids and seizures are not always on bad people who have abused animals, they are just people who aren't aware and the "court system" is stacked against them even if they have money to hire lawyers. OH, virtually all the animal lawyers are AR too, part of the Fort Worth/Tarrant County followers of Skip. Some of those are also available to testify as "experts" for the prosecution as things like avian experts? Come ON, its an afront to the public! and the public has no clue.

5 years ago 20/20 and John Stossel did a long expose on SPCA TX. Even with that, its not changed.

I would love nothing more than to see Skip Trimble, Rebecca Poling and all of the Dallas Animal Shelter Commission members, for that matter, answer the question live on television about when exactly they first learned of the trapped cat in the walls of the Dallas Shelter!
Because......if you have built your career and rattle everyone's cage in the name of animal protection and you are so deep in local politics that you can't save a trapped cat in the shelter, you don't deserve a reputation for truly caring about animals and you should be exposed for what you are which is a deceptive con artist, to put it lightly. The fact that Rebecca Poling has yet to answer the question of when she first heard about the trapped cat is very disturbing to me whether she knew about while it was still alive and savable or whether she didn't know about it till after it's death. Either way, she should answer the question. Only two reasons why she wouldn't: 1. Arrogance 2. Scared of incriminating herself. Neither attitude should be allowed in a public service position as sitting on a City Commission/Committee.

Trimble has the media sewed up; that will never happen until he is tied up with HSUS but "locals" can't do it. I know who can!

Susette,

My name is Verjean Lunenschloss, and you may or may not know who I am. But I'd love to spend some time with you. I go back to early 2008 with the commission, THLN, and the Dallas City Council, and other local councils as well. In addition, I sweat blood and tears (very successfully) during the last Texas legislative season. I am covered over until the end of this week...but I would love to sit and talk with you, if and when you have some time. You can contact me through my website...lunendogs.net. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sorry Suzette, for the mis-spelling. Mea Culpa. It's a pet peeve of mine...and I noticed it as soon as I hit the "send" key". A thousand apologies!

Puh-LEEZE! No need for apologies! Oh, I'd love to visit! Let's do. Perhaps Saturday, 10/2nd. I'm free after 3pm. I'll contact you. Thanks so much!! :)
